Digital Film
Have you ever wanted to create short videos? Then this is the class for you.
Have you ever noticed that in a movie the shots are changed about every 10 - 20 seconds? We will learn about the basic shots the professionals use to create a movie. We will then digitally edit our footage and develop a professional looking movie. Students will create a final movie based on their own ideas.
The skills used in this class can be used to create fun projects in other classes. The skills will also come in handy when you are producing your home videos. |

Broadcast Media
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of all phases of the media production process from a variety of perspectives (news, sports and entertainment) The course includes technical aspects of media production. Students will create film media for NACI events and activities. The media will be shown in the school and on the school website. |

Digital Imaging
Everybody is taking digital images now. Digital imaging is an essential skill for today's workplace. In this course you will learn tips tfor capturing and editing digital images.
We will learn tips for capturing better people, landscape, and architectural pictures. Students will be given the opportunity to take and edit their pictures. |

Desktop Publishing
Put your digital imaging skills to use.
The purpose of the course is to allow students to plan and create a variety of published documents. Students will then be able to utilize their skills in other courses.
Students will alter images from the internet and will take their own images for the documents. Students will plan and produce documents such as: |

- Compact Disc Inserts
- Scrapbooks

3D Modelling
The purpose of the course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to use software to create three-dimensional models that represent real objects or illustrate ideas.
Students will: |
- Build objects
- Enhance the visual presentation of a model by setting object properties and applying textures to objects.
- Light an object to create shadows, shading, reflection
- Create a basic object animation

Animation
Have you ever wanted to create short animated cartoons for the internet? The purpose of the course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to create two-dimensional animations. Cartoon animations will be created using Macromedia Flash.
We will begin the course with some basic assignments. This will allow students a chance to get acquainted with the Flash environment. Students will learn both Frame by Frame and Tweening animation. Students will also learn how to insert audio into their projects.
Projects will range from a simple Name animation to a Spaceship project to a Student choice project. Students will end the course by creating a disk of all their course projects. |
Leadership
T
he focus of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective communication, leadership, and service to others in the school and community. It recognizes that the students must understand the concept of leadership and must be able to lead themselves before they can be effective leaders for others. The program is student driven. Students learn from one another. They are given the opportunity and encouraged to develop their own leadership skills and to take risks and grow in positive, productive ways.
